Aida's "Festival of the Arts"

Yep, Aida had an "art show". Her art show consisted of ten different pieces of work ranging from mixed media to sand. I was SO impressed. Aida is such an artsy girl (some might say free-spirited.) She attends a REALLY GOOD preschool. One of six schools in Franklin County to receive an excellent rating (of some sort...if I wasn't two glasses of wine deep I might be able to recall the exact title...)

Aida's "Mama" :-)

House:

I'll be happy when we get sod! When I am gone in the evenings at class, apparently it becomes a good idea to not only let our kids play in the sod-less, nail-infested muddy yard, but the neighborhood kids too. We are slowly reaching the status as the "funnest" house in the neighborhood: Thank you daddy Scott Weidner and THANK YOU Mama for being away three nights every week!
Congrats to Scott:

Tomorrow Scott begins his role as GM of his own account! He definitely deserves it!

Back from Chicago

After a wonderful visit with my aunt, cousins, and uncle, we are back from Chicago. My aunt and uncle spoiled everyone: Aunt Lisa catered to Aida's every wish and Ivie's butt never touched the ground. My mom and I were spoiled with fresh meats and fishes, 14-year old wines, and Starbucks coffee every morning. I got home and decided that my $10.00 bottles of wine and frozen fish are no good. My wine suddenly tastes like vinegar. Scott says thanks, Uncle Julian.

Aida with my cousin Shelby and her niece Olivia.

Saturday night, I hung with the big dogs: My younger cousins. Soooo.... I used to pride myself on my ability to party, hang out to wee hours of the morning and do a bit of drinking, then get up the next morning like nothing happened. NOT ANYMORE. The main purpose of the Chicago trip was to celebrate my younger cousin's 21st birthday. I wasn't just on the planning committee; I was the planning committee. I organized dates, sleeping arrangements, and participants. So when 11 p.m. rolled around and I still a) hadn't had a drink and b) were still waiting to go out, and I was ready to call it a night and go to sleep, I was kindly told "No Way!" and handed a Red Bull and vodka. I'll admit, I had a blast. I was totally out of my 30-year-old-mother-of-three league, but I had a blast. I went to the club. I danced. I laughed.

Shelby (her gangsta face), Rachel (the birthday girl), and me (the mom).

Then I went home while the youngins went to the after bars (what???). I thought "Great. I can get back to my cousin's apartment and get to sleep before the riff raff gets home and keeps me up until 5 a.m.". So just as I was about to curl up in my cousin's awesome bed in his awesome downtown Chicago apartment...not just one, but four youngins come pounding on the door. To make a long story short...I went to bed at 5 a.m. and got up at 6:45 a.m. and I'm STILL trying to catch up. But, like I said, I. Had. A. Blast!

The awesome view from Adam's bedroom window.

I sadly started summer classes yesterday. A big gigantic BOO! I am not feeling it. One week in between the semester from hell and summer is simply not enough. I hope I get my law school mojo back soon.

The house is looking good and becoming more and more comfortable. I LOVE IT!

Aida came home to her room painted pink and purple.

Tomorrow is kindergarten graduation: Tear.

Hanging Out In Chicago

I am in Chicago with my mom, Aida, and Ivie celebrating my cousin's birthday and hanging out my aunt and cousins...Girls Weekend! We are having a blast. This has been a great break from Ohio and my busy life there. Scott and Jackson seem to be having a good weekend minus the girls. When my mom talked to Jackson she asked him if he missed his sisters and he said "I miss Ivie". My mom said "What about Aida?" Jackson said "Can I talk to Ivie?"

I start summer classes on Tuesday: Not much of a break. Finals were rough. I am so glad the semester is over. Hopefully summer classes won't be as bad.

Jackson and Ivie had good birthdays. Jackson got a bike. Both of them had blue cake.

Jackson only has three more days of school and Aida two more weeks. I can't believe summer is already here. We are having a birthday party for Jackson and Ivie on June 11...so mark your calendars.

Weekly update

Ivie C! Almost a year old...hard to believe!
Since we don't have sod yet, the kids found a mini mud river in the backyard. Scott thought it was a good idea to let them play in it.

Ivie just watched.
The crib. Success: We can park one car in the garage!
Not much else going on. You know just the usual: House, kids, husband, school, etc. Jackson and Aida are on break this week. I have one more week of class and then reading week. Scott is doing well. And that just about does it.

There simply aren't enough hours in the day

My stalker baby, Ivie, fell asleep, standing up, watching me in the kitchen.
My girls...hanging out.
So I thought about this saying today, "There aren't enough hours in the day", and being the scientific-learning-to-be-overly-analytical-thinker I am (and am becoming), I thought: This would totally disrupt the progress of the world. When would the sun rise? When would we have a full moon? Would we all age? WHOA...Megan! Really, its just a figure of speech. Nonetheless, this is certainly my motto these days (regardless of the scientific implications of this phrase).

So what's been going on that I haven't posted in almost two weeks:

School:

OMG! For all of you non-texters or if your over the age of forty..Oh My Gosh! This degree is kicking my ass. I have three more weeks of classes, one week for reading week and then two weeks for finals. Sounds good right? Well, this sequence of events means I am still reading the hundred pages assigned each week. I am also working on my course outlines so that I may return next semester (course outlines are critical to your performance on the final exams). I am also working on a research project for a paper that is due in eight days. What's the other phrase: What doesn't kill you makes you stronger? Well, watch out world, 'cause here I come!

Sick:

I've been sick; officially diagnosed with a sinus infection.

Peoria:

Certainly not a complaint, but a week of drinking like I was twenty-two and childless again has left my body pretty upset with me.

House:

I LOVE our house, but it too is kicking my ass. I am not the kind of person that can look at a pile of clothes, unopened boxes, white walls, a cluttered garage, or curtainless windows and think "oh this can wait until after the semester; it's not harming anyone". Yeah right. So this whole list...that's right, I've done (and the house STILL isn't where I want it). Here are some pictures of our progress. Also, check out my page dedicated to the house.

So here it is. There REALLY aren't enough hours in the day.

Hanging Out in Peoria, IL

The Weidner group is currently hanging out in Peoria, IL, watching basketball, drinking beer (those of us over the age of 21), playing Rock Band, and having a great time. Some of Scott's high school and college friends get together every year to watch March Madness (I'm currently sitting in the basement with five TVs in front of me, all with a different game showing) and drink beer. Since we now live in Ohio, we were only six hours away from Peoria and could make the drive. We got in last night about 11:30 p.m. The drive was uneventful and not too long. The laughs haven't stopped since we walked in the door (except for Scott and Aida who are currently napping).

We have officially been in the house one week. The move last weekend went very smoothly. A BIG HUGE THANK YOU to Don, Sharon, my dad, Janell, Tony, Marc, and Angela for helping us with the move. Without all of the help, the rental would not be completely cleaned out and also cleaned up...so thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

So far, we LOVE the house! It is so cozy and spacious. The garage is still filled with boxes and there is miscellaneous clutter everywhere, but slowly we are putting things away. I am very anxious to start painting and decorating; the house has so much potential.

I am officially on Spring Break, which means a break in classes, but not a break in studying and working on a paper and my outlines. My Legal Research and Writing professor conveniently assigned a research memo due in two weeks. The outline is due March 28th. I am thankful to have a week of not having to go to class. This semester has gone really fast; I only have about four more weeks of classes.

So that is it. I guess I should go check on my kids who have been playing with five other kids ages eight to eighteen months.

(I have posted a few pictures of the clutter on my other blog. Click HERE)

Homeowners Again!

Well...it's over. We made it and we are once again homeowners! We closed today on our home and received the keys.

Here is Scott entering the code on the keypad! The kids sitting in our new living room.
The big moving day is Saturday. Our moving crew consists of my dad and Don (the professionals), Scott, Marc, and Tony (the apprentices) and Janell, Sharon, and me (the supervisors). Tomorrow the walls are being painted. On Friday the appliances and couch are being delivered and Directv and the internet are being installed. Soooooo much going on in the Weidner household!
